1. I worked on my thesis presentation all class and finished it. 2. I then continued working on my next single which involves collaborating with Carlos. We created a couple beats and spit ideas between each other.

THESIS PRESENTATIONS

1.19.18

1. I continued working on music today. I'm having trouble making/writing anything, which is what usually happens after I release a lot of music because I feel drained of any creativity. I've made two beats today but I don't really like any of them. 2. After giving up on making beats, I started on my powerpoint for my presentation next week. I'm going to use graphs from my SoundCloud in order to display my numbers/info.

1.17.18

1. Since I released my EP, I've gained about 800 plays on my SoundCloud and roughly 150 on Spotify. Initially, Candle Wax was doing poorly, barely raking in any plays. However, I looked up how to promote music and I took advice from different people and I feel like I've been doing a better job promoting and that has contributed to the rather steady growth in numbers on the EP. 2. I've decided to stop doing EPs though. I've noticed that my singles do far better than my EPs merely because the singles are just one song while the EPs have 4-5 songs. People just don't want to give up that much time. 3. Today, I produced some more beats and worked on some more ideas for upcoming singles I want to release. I finished one beat and should be releasing it next week. Carlos is also producing a beat for me.

1.12.18

1. I released my EP, "Candle Wax" today. I'm thinking about uploading a blog post about the meaning behind the album and behind each song. However, I may just put that in my presentation and then put my presentation on here. 2. For the rest of the class I played around trying to make more songs for my next project. I have no idea where I want to go with it. I made three demo instrumentals just to try to find something I like. I think my game plan for this EP is to just make songs that I like until I have four or five of them, so I don't have to force anything. I'm going to try to push just one or two more out before final presentations.

1.10.18

1. I showed my EP to my peers and took into account their constructive comments. For the first half of the class I cleaned up some of this songs and mastered them more in-depth. The project is pretty much done now. I am just listening everyday to make sure there's nothing I want to change. 2. For the second half of the class, I cancelled a subscription I had to a music website that I used to a lot but haven't much anymore. I still had 232 credits that I had to use up by downloading different samples so for the rest of the class I tried to make use of the rest of these credits. I still have 95 and I have until tomorrow to use them all. 3. I'm starting to think about the next project I want to work on. Although I'm not entirely done with the project that's going out in two days, I want to start on the next one and get ahead. I'm not sure about the direction I want to go with it as of now. I will just keep making music that I really like and see where it takes

WINTER BREAK RECAP

Before break started, I had made a lot of progress on the EP I was making, Beautiful State of Mind. As I continued making music, I realized the original direction of the EP had changed and the songs I was making was giving the EP a completely different vibe. I decided to change the name of my EP to "Candle Wax". I created a new album art and replaced three songs with new ones I had created over break. The EP is dropping this Friday, 1/12/18.
