Turner - Senior Thesis

1. I researched Lafayette College more thoroughly since Ms. Marberry recommended I go talk to them yesterday and they sparked my interest. I'm applying there now. 2. I started my UO "Supplemental" Essay and talked to Mr. Correa about the direction my essay. I'm at about 120/250-650 words.

1. I've started thinking more about the metaphor for my album. I do want the representations for the issue to be earthly things (as said in my presentation). I've been attracted to the moon, sky, ocean, and mountains. I've started researched old meanings for these four representations to try to gain deeper insight existing stories/metaphors for these things. 2. Continued producing music for my album.

1. I finally finished my essay for A&M!!!!!! (60 min) 2. Started my supplements for USC (30 min)

1. Thesis presentations 2. Edited my first essay from Greer's comments.  3. Finalized my college list in Naviance. 4. Started A&M essay.

THESIS PRESENTATIONS

1. I finished my visual for the presentations on Monday. 2. I learned a new technique when sampling drums that add an atmosphere to the music. 3. 1. I finished my two writing assignments for Seattle University and started my assignment for University of Oregon. 2. Started my application for University of Alabama. 3. I researched scholarships for all my colleges to see if I had to do any extra applications. I need to start my application for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship.

1. Filled out my mentor survey and contacted a friend to try to get into contact with artists. (~40 min) 2. I finished my outline for my thesis presentation. (Rest of class) 3. I don't know if I want to do a cohesive piece anymore or if I should release singles at the same time as I'm making an album.

1. I did half of the application for UC schools to then realize I don't want to do all that work because I probably won't go there even if I get in. That wasted a lot of time :) (40 min) 2. Then I removed 6 out of the 14 too many words I had on my common app essay. (15 minutes) 3. Finished Common App (20 min) 4. Started essays for Seattle University (Rest of class)

1. I've decided to change the vibe of the album. I want to make it more jazzy/neo-soul.

1. I decided to create a Hip-Hop album for my thesis. I got the idea from Obasi Shaw, a Harvard student who created an album for his Senior Thesis. I want to talk about social injustice our country/the world faces (race, religion, sexual orientation) in the songs from the album. I also want to touch on my own hardships not only facing these injustices, but also my struggles throughout life in general. 2. I started making the first track for the album. 1. I finished my college essay (last body paragraph and the conclusion) for the Common App and for Apply Texas and got it revised by Mr. Correa. I corrected what he suggested. 2. I finished the Gates Scholarship application.
